Mr. Doom and Gloom and Deceit

Genesis 1:1 - In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
It’s such a peaceful thought, but definitely a far cry from today’s headlines. As my wife walked by me one night as I sat back in the recliner reading another book, she asked “What are you reading now?” I showed her the cover of Dr. David Jeremiah’s book ‘What in the World is Going On?’ and she said. “Oh…. Is that another one of those Gloom and Doom books you’ve been reading?” I’ve accumulated quite a stack of books below the coffee table:
“It’s the End of the World as We Know it (and I feel fine)” by Jim Fletcher.
“The Late Great Planet Earth” by Hal Lindsey.
“The American Apocalypse” by Terry James.
“Blood in the Sand” by Benny Hinn.
“Bible Prophecy 101” by Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz.
And a host of others, plus other publications that were included in the stack. Yes, it has become apparent that I was “Mr. Gloom and Doom”. A title that I can accept, with reasoning.
When I started to study bible prophecy, there was so much to learn. I began to see how the early Old Testament Prophets came to envision these prophecies through the Holy Spirit, and then to see how those prophecies were fulfilled later on in the bible. Even Jesus, upon his return to Nazareth into the synagogue and read from the scroll of the prophet Isaiah as stated in Luke 4:16-21. It was a prophecy fulfilled. Of course, this is just one example of many, many others. This is the basis for my firm belief in the word of God.
But, we didn’t live in those times to witness those fulfillments. However, we do live in this time to witness new fulfillments. Never before in the history of mankind, since God put Adams foot on this earth, has so much taken place in such a short span of time. Over the last century, our worlds’ technology and growth have expanded exponentially, more so than any other century. Do you think that this is some sort of coincidence? I don’t think so. Everything that came about during this time had all the potential for existence, but only now has God given us the ability to understand and process this information in our brains to make it all happen. Humans were now able to start inventing things that would make our lives simpler, and scarier. God had turned on the ingenuity in us to continue his master plan.
Why is that so important? Because, it’s this advanced technology that is going to aid in the fulfillment of some prophecies. The biggest fulfillment in the last century was in 1948 with the formation of the State of Israel, as prophesied in Isaiah 11:11-12, Amos 9:14-15, and Ezekiel 36:24, 37:21. Months ago, I said that this was going to be a major factor in end times prophecy. In one of my posts on Facebook, I told people “Watch Israel”. On December 7, 2009, I was reading the articles on Rapture Ready. While reading Jim Fletchers section “Israel Watch” and his article titled “The Worlds Biggest Problem” I came to a lone sentence in the article that read, “Watch Israel”. This gave me an instant Déjà vu. (Thanks Jim).
This, to me, is like one big jigsaw puzzle. Once Israel was declared its own state, that’s when we opened up the box and dumped all the pieces out on the table. But, included in this jigsaw puzzle are pieces that are deceptions. They may look like they belong, but in fact, fit another puzzle within the puzzle. Now, this complicates things further because now, we must decide where the pieces go. To make things worse, this puzzle came in a generic box that has no picture on the cover to go by.
Today’s world, as we know it, is overflowing with deception and the masses don’t seem to know how to differentiate between truth and deception. The biggest deception starts with YOU. What is YOUR definition of truth? Are you fine with the way things are? Has complacency taken a firm hold of your life? “TRUTH” is found in the Bible.
Jesus said to him “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one come to the Father except through Me. (John 14:6 ESV)
Then Pilate said to Him, “So, You are a king?” Jesus answered “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world – to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to My voice.” (John 18:37 ESV)
So, where is the deception? In the first Epistle of John we read “We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. (1 John 5:19 ESV). As Satan prepares this earth for his final battle against God, he has amassed a huge army and has assigned World Leaders as his ‘Puppets’ to accomplish those things that need to be in place from the ‘Earthly Aspect’ of things. As we watch the nightly news shows, we can see these puppets in action as they are displayed on our television screens. Every time I watch a political speech coming out of our Capitol, I think of Psalm 52:2 ESV “Your tongue plots destruction, like a sharp razor, you worker of deceit.” And also,
“Be not a witness against your neighbor without cause, and do not deceive with your lips. (Proverbs 24:28 ESV)
Even as eloquently as our President speaks, I can still feel the hairs on the back of my neck stand up as he speaks! Do I think that he is the Anti-Christ? No. I DO believe that he is one of the major puppets in the grand scheme of things that Satan has orchestrated.
“Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that Antichrist is coming, even now many Antichrists have appeared, for this we know that it is the last hour.” (1 John 2:18 NAS)
The True Antichrist will be exposed at the beginning of the Tribulation Period. Along with the False Prophet, these two, with Satan will make up the “Unholy Trinity”. As I look at many of the World Leaders that are to play a role in this upcoming battle, they all carry this deception forward to achieve their own agendas. Those are the agendas that Satan has spelled out to each and every one of them. Each of these Agendas are a piece to the puzzle.
Very soon we are going to clearly be able to distinguish which piece is which and to what puzzle they belong. Look closely at the World Stage. Notice who’s making military arms deals with whom. Notice who’s making alliances, that 20 years ago would have been considered ludicrous. Notice how Israel is discovering “New Wealth”. Notice how the Vatican is helping to shape this ‘New World Religion’ dealing with Mother Earth as a focal point. Notice how the United States is banding its Leaders, while abandoning its own people to basically fend for themselves. Lawlessness is running rampant on the World Stage, and Satan is laughing with delight as he manipulates the strings of destruction on a world that has fallen fast asleep.
“For all that is in the world – the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride in possessions – is not from the Father but from the world.” (1John 2:16 ESV)
So, where does this leave us true believing Christians? This coming time is going to be extremely difficult. This is going to be a time when we will truly be tested on our faith in the Lord. Satan will try to transform you to become a soldier in his fast growing Army. Remember, deceit, means Lies. As it was in the days of Noah, the Bible clearly teaches us that we will degenerate our society in the end times becoming just as evil, or more so as it was in the days before Noah entered the Ark.
Christians now come under close scrutiny because of our beliefs. In this “Politically Correct” society, Christians have been put in prison because of their outspokenness of such evils as homosexuality and same sex marriages. Pronouncements such as these are considered wrong and are labeled as such as “Hate Crimes”. Even though the Bible states in 2 Corinthians 6:9-10, Leviticus 18:22, 20:13, Romans 1:26-27 and 1 Timothy 1:8-10 that homosexuality is a sin, we as Christians have been deceived by our own government and society in general, and told that it’s now acceptable. Now we suffer the persecution because we object to their rule and side with the Truth.
“The spirit clearly says that in the later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons.” (1 Timothy 4:1 NIV)
One of the ways that we will be deceived as Christians will be by the teachings of False Preachers. Many of today’s “High Energy” Evangelists are False Preachers. They entice you with that “Feel Good” attitude and don’t always teach sound doctrine.
“For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teachings, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander into myths.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4 ESV)
“But False Prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who brought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” (2 Peter 2:1-3 ESV)
There are many False Religions out there too that do not teach the Bible. Some use the Bible as a building block or starting point, but then they wander clear off the charts and develop into the cultist religions that they are. They delete or add items from the Bible to suit their ideology and beliefs.
“I warn everyone who hears the words of prophecy of this book: if anyone adds to them, God will add to the plagues described in this book. And, if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which is described in this book” (Revelation 22:18-19 ESV)
“Do not be deceived my beloved brethren” (James 1:16 NAS)
Trust in the Lord. Satan is going to do everything in his power to transform you and to fill you with false hope and deceitful lies. Kind of like the ‘Hope and Change’ that was promised to the American people WAY back in 2008.
“Knowing this first of all, that scoffers will come in the last days with scoffing, following their own sinful desires.” (2 Peter 3:3 ESV)
“The end is at hand; therefore be self controlled and sober minded for the sake of your prayers” (1 Peter 4:7 ESV)
Hold fast to the teaching of Christ!!
