End Times Hysteria?
Why do so many people succomb to hysteria/fear because of supposed “end of the world” prophecies? Solid Christians even sometimes fall prey to end times beliefs that have no basis whatsoever in God’s Word. Why is this?

I think it’s a combination of things. they may have lost focus on what’s really important, which is our relationship with God and with others as we are used to reach others for him. The rapture could happen in 2 years or 2 weeks, but there are people who will dies in 2 days. When the rapture actually happens means nothing to them. Some people want to feel important and think they can figure it all out. They convince themselves that the anti-christ is Barack Obama, goerge W. Bush, Osama Bin Laden, Sadaam Hussein, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Ronald Reagan, Adolf Hitler, and so on and so on. Then they figure out who or what the beast is down to the letter and specifically who plays what role, but in reality, no one knows for sure. It can be fun to speculate, but some people just go nuts with it and lost sight of what’s really important.

The end of the world!!!! Its to be from what I am hearing in 2012, and now they even have a movie out on it. And the truth is NO one knows when the end of the world will be except God and Jesus.
So if it does come in 2012, or earlier, I get to go home and be with Jesus, forever. And in Revelations it states that this end of the world thing will go on.

AMEN to both of you….I think we forget that we are to be fulfilling EPH 2:10; “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them,” until such time as the Lamb returns for His Bride and the King sets us His throne in Jerusalem to rule His nation Israel..stay the course and run the race. Do not succomb to “wars and rumors of wars” but contend for the faith in whatever gifting God has blessed us with.

Thank you three. As human beings we are onstantly wanting to know and seeking to find. Our fears can drive us into areas of study we
are not to be in. Our curious nature compells us to seek and know
the answers to Biblical events. Mostly we want to know and will not
accept the diagnosis as given to us in the Bible. This could point
to the weak faith and trust we need to have and the lack of patience
we should have.

Why not live one day at a time, enjoy today, smell the roses, live everyday as if it is our last day, God is in control and He will take care of His children.

I think one problem that perhaps all of us have faced is that when you see something in print, it cannot help but have an effect on you (which is why, when you read anything distressing, I think you should pray). In the late 90s, there were a lot of articles about such things and I know of people who worried about them.
In various newspapers/magazines over time, there have been articles about “end of the world” prophecies and when people see things on the printed page, it can worry them. I think seeing something in print can be more worrying than over hearing a comment by someone.
Prior to me becoming a Christian, I used to really worry when I read articles about wars and nuclear proliferation, but as a Christian now, I know God is in control.

Robert, I think your last statement is exactly right: “I know God is in control”. As long as we can accept that, we are in good shape for whatever comes. My wife and I watched the ads on the new movie about the end in 2012 and when it was over she ask me what I thought about that and I told her that there was several things that would happen before that took place. In another month I’ll be 75 years old: I expect the Lord Jesus to return before my natural death occurs. If he doesn’t, then it will only amplify Duet. 29.29…….
“The SECRET THINGS belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law”.
I don’t expect to recieve any pre-event signs or any special word about what is going to happen or when — I just know that when the Lord returns I’ll be one of the beneficiaries of that blessed event. And anything He desires is okay with me. The only thing that I look for is when Iran decides to actually go to war with Israel. God will never let his people be wiped off the face of the earth and no matter how much backing they have from the north that is the time that the Antichrist will announce his treaty with Israel garunteeing them seven years of peace. Then at the end of 3 1/2 years he will come out of the closet, so to speak, and then he will be revealed.
As to why people, especially Christians, fear this happening is a mystery to me. Only those who are not ready for his return should be afraid and the only way they can get ready is to come to the Lord Jesus Christ and repent of their sins and become true Christian followers of him…….And you can know when that happens because you will have peace in your spirit because you will recieve the seal of the Holy Ghost for eternity…….
MAY WE ALL BE READY when the time comes.

Yes, True born again Christians know that God will carry out things in His wisdom….not ours. But do not forget, While God did not tell us the day or hour, He did give us the signs of the season.
Israel is God’s timepiece!

Hi,
Understanding the end times starts with understanding the begining. You have heard me talk about the “full Gospel”, That is to say, All of what God is doing and why.
The whole of “ALL” Scripture crystallizes about, and is the development of the Covenants God made with man. There are Seven Greater Covenants. Six of the Covenants are unconditional (God’ Grace); The Mosaic Covenant is conditional and is conditioned on the obedience of man to God’s will. (Man asked for this one).
The Mosaic Covenant was formed an Mt. Sinai. After God had led them out of the bondage of Egypt and bore them on eagles wings’ and had brought them unto Him Self, instead of asking God to continue in Grace, they said they would do what ever God wanted.(Exod.19:3-8)
Thus came the Law, of which no man can keep.
And in all these Covenants are all the promises of God and reveal His restoration of His Kingdom,(Acts 1:6)(Matt.19:27-28) of which Adam lost to Satan.(Genesis Chapter 3)(1 John 3:7-8; 1 Cor.15:24)(Matt.4:23 and 24:11-14). Prayfully study on this and it will begin to put together what God is doing.

It is based on fear of the unknown future both individually and globally. There is scripture in Revelation 21-22 that depicts the new heaven and earth and indicates the the old ones are gone. So many people anticipate the end of everything. However, if one is to truly look into the end time prophecies of the Bible, they indicate our blessed hope and that is what we should be portraying to others.

Has anyone answered the actual question here at all? I think not! Why do people fear was the question was it not – or at least part of the question it was?
there are two obvious responses to that – they have been taught a flase religion/god and have been dreadfully misled and therefore are not spirit filled and are fear filled instead – and rightfully fear filled if so, cos if man and religioun got out of the way they’d be ok
and
they are otherwise rebellious, troubled, separated and hellbound to put it bluntly so fear the rods their arrogant narcissistic selfs make for thier burning backs in future!
There is only one rightful fear to be held by man, hold the wrong one, its lethal…

that loves with such inconditional mercy and grace for us all but cos of the mercenary nature of fallen man….
They fear cos they fell for a lie along the way and got mega confused by evil and satanacy confusing htem against God our Father who takes us home in End times to perfect love and peace!
They hystrerical about end times have right to feel hysteria cos they are insane and the reality of hell will last a long long time.
Far better they got sane and say end times as a most joyous event to come!!!

Lot’s of great belief in God and not concerning ourselves with all the “Doom and Gloom” the Media and Hollywood promote. Satan loves to stir people up to believe falsehood and “Maybe this will actually happen” etc etc.
Back in 1988 someone wrote a best-seller called “88 reasons why The Lord will return in 1988″. He/She made lots of Money and of course The Lord never showed up like the Media thinks he will etc. The Most important thing for us is know Jesus is with us 24/7.
In Matthew 24 when the Apostles asked Jesus when the end would come and the signs…Jesus said “Take Heed that No Man Deceive ye….” (Matthew 24 v 4)
Be ready at all times to suddenly leave here (Rapture)The World has no clue when this will happen nor will God let them figure it out..It’s his secret. It’s getting close I feel in Spirit But not even Christians will be forewarned that’s why Just be ready.
The Story of the Five Wise/ Five Foolish Virgins opens our eyes to just why we should stay ready. (Matthew 25 v 1-13).

People without the power of the Holy Spirit tempered with Scripture and Prayer, who are not “Walking in the Spirit,” who do not do everything for “God’s Glory” in everything that they say, do and everywhere that they go, are very vulnerable to the things of this life and world and can easily fall into bondage to something.

I believe the reason why so many people are concerned about such controversial predictions is because of their insecurity. Sure, they may not normally express such concerns but when the chips are down, thoughts of the hereafter suddenly become serious.
Christians shouldn’t have such insecurity because we know where we are going to from this life and above all we know that God loves us. Scripture tells us that ‘Perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment’ 1 John 4:18. We should have no fear of punishment when we know that Christ has taken our punishment upon Himself. Elsewhere we can read ‘Do not be anxious about anything . . . and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus’ Philippians 4:6-7.
I believe we should see this as an opportunity to share the gospel with those who are lost and need a saviour. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope you have’ 1 Peter 3:15.

In Comment #9 we talked about that All Scripture ia about the purpose of God, “The Full Gospel” and is revealed in His Covenants with The Gentile, Israel and the Church and disclose His whole purpose earthward.
The First Covenant God made with man was the “Adamic Covenant”. It is unconditional. Covenant formed(Gen.3:14-19).
Elements of the Covenant:
1.Curse upon the serpent
2.Abiding enemity between the seed of Satan and “the seed of the woman”
3.Final victory of the woman’s “seed” through suffering
4.The sorrow of maternity
5.The subordination of the woman
6.Creation enslaved
7.Physical death
Scriptual reference:(Gal.4:4; 1 John 3:8; Matt.4:1; 13:37-39; Luke 8:14; John 13:2; Heb.2:14; John 14:30; Luke 22:53) Please study the Scriptures.
Along with the Covenants, we had a Stewardship or rsponsibility to keep. In the begining, man was not perfect…except in His physical or health of the body, but he was in a state of Innocences.
His responsibility and state was as follows:
a)Mans state at the begining (Gen.1:26-29)
b)His responsibility (Gen.2:16-17)
c)His Failure (Gen.3:24)
d)The consequences (Gen.3:14-19; Rom.5:12, 18, 19)
Please study the Scriptures and this will begin the Study of what the “full gospel” is as the Disciples preached it as per God.

The Reason I ask is because your statements regarding The Woman seem to dwell on the negative aspects. Yes I agree She was the first one to give into temptation in the Garden. Remember Adam received punishment as well in as much is God created hardship on The man as well (Genesis 3 v 17-19).

Since the last couple of posts deal with The Garden of Eden and The Downfall. Would like to add this to consider if I may.
“The tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil” Adam and Eve were told by God not to eat of (Genesis 2 v 9-17) Jesus spoke in parable about Good And Bad fruit trees in Matthew 7 v 17-19). Notice God warned Adam and Eve about The Tree of knowledge of Good and Evil that if they Ate of that tree they would surely die.
We know Physically Adam and Eve never died after they ate of the fruit right then. What God was warning them was to partake of the tree would cause them Spiritual Death and Seperation from God.
How so? The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil in reality represents The World and all the UN-Holy Un-Godly things in The World.
Example; TV is both Good and Evil. A TV can give us News and Weather and other positive images to enlighten and inform us. A Computer likewise has the same Good in so many ways such as this Web Site.
These devices can show us so many Un-Holy and Un-Godly images as well. We can cling to Good Only and don’t give in to temptations to “Take a peek” at something is wrong to look at and cause our minds and hearts to get corrupted.
When a person comes to God we were all Spiritually Ignorant and Un-Discerning. When someone gets The Spirit of God we then have a “Restrainer” or a Comforter to keep us as pure and innocent minded as possible. If we turn back to the beggerly elements we do exactly what Adam and Eve did Thousands of Years ago….

The tree did not represent all that was bad or unholy, It was the act of disobedience against God’s will that brought Sin into the world (against it’s will)Rom.8:19-22; Gen.3:14-24) What is sin? It is to transgress the law of God…disobedience…rebellion.
The only people who turn back are those who were never saved to begin with. These are people who could have escaped corruption after having the knowledge of the Lord and savior…but instead, turned back to what they were…dogs and swine. They have the coats of lambs…but inside are still dogs and swine. For they turned from the Holy commandment that was delievered to them…..They were never born again.(2 Peter Chapter 2….read all of it before you reply.

Let’s read 2 Peter 2 v 20; “For If after they have ESCAPED THE POLUTIONS OF THE WORLD through the Knowledge of The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ they are AGAIN ENTAGLED therin and overcome The Latter end is Worse with them then the Beginning”.
No Douglas the people Peter is talking about there HAD the Holy Ghost and were Born Again then they returned like the Dog to their own vomit they once walked away from. Jesus told the parable about 7 worse Demons who enter the individual once they turn away from God (Matthew 12 v 43-45).
A Person can lose their salvation if they turn away after God has given them a new lease on Life Spiritually speaking. There is no such thing as “Once saved/always saved” The Bible cleary tells us that those who turn away from God who once knew The Truth and never Repent and come back to God will go to The Lake of Fire. I have plenty of Scripture to back that Up.
Do you believe Jesus went to The Cross for Our Sins and we can still Sin Everyday and do things Our way and still be saved? Not according to My Bible Brother. By The Dame Token we can’t Give Money or feed all the Homeless and be a “Do-Gooder” in our communities and expect God to honor that over His Word. It’ll never happen.
I stand by what I said about The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. That tree is a like I stated it Represents The World.
(A) Money must be had to buy Groceries Pay our Light Bill etc. The Same Money can be used For Buying Evil Such as Drugs..Alcohol..Cigarettes Etc.
