Isn't it time you got to know your Neighbor?

Barbecues for God

During the summer, many of us enjoy having friends over for a backyard barbecue. The food section of the newspaper is full of menu ideas to please every palate. But do you ever worry that, after all your hard work, your friends won’t show up? If they don’t, it seems to be a reflection on our importance-or popularity. It’s a nightmare scenario, believe it or not, for many a host and hostess.

But maybe we’re worrying about the wrong thing. And just maybe, we’re inviting the wrong people.

In Luke 14, we find Jesus dining at the home of a ruler among the Pharisees. A discussion comes up about the importance of guests. Jesus tells his host, “When you give a...banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers or...rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return, and you be repaid.”

Indeed, Jesus says, you should invite “the poor, the maimed, the lame, [and] the blind.” These guests would not be able to repay his hospitality, or yours. The man would, instead, be repaid “at the resurrection of the just.”

This theme was echoed by one of Washington’s most famous pastors, the Rev. Peter Marshall, who in the 1940s was the chaplain of the Senate. In a collection of his sermons called Mr. Jones, Meet the Master, Marshall tells the story of an imaginary businessman who was reading his Bible one day and found the passage from Luke I just quoted. He made up engraved invitations to dinner and passed them out among the poor of Washington-men who were sick or out of work. On the appointed night, the businessman served his guests an elegant dinner. And then, he offered, in the name of Jesus, to help them any way he could.

This is the approach to hospitality we all should have. I live in a town where people put a lot of effort into getting important people to come to dinner-Congressmen, big-time lawyers, Supreme Court justices. But that’s the secular worldview at work-that we should honor those with earthly power.

By contrast, Christianity teaches that we should concern ourselves with the poor, the sick and the powerless. Scripture makes it clear that our help should not be limited to dropping off groceries at a food bank, or working in the soup kitchen once a month. Instead, we should invite the poor into our very homes and churches.

The next time you throw a party, don’t worry about hosting the smart set or the most important people at your church. Instead, invite neighbors who have lost their jobs and could use some cheering up. Invite someone from your office who is hard to get along with, and probably lonely. Invite the poor in your community-maybe that single mom down the street could use a night out.

Or perhaps you should call your pastor; maybe he knows an ex-prisoner who has joined the congregation and needs fellowship. Find out which families from church are going through a difficult time, and invite them over. Invite people who cannot repay your hospitality.

The Washington Post maybe won’t cover your get-together. But Someone far more important will notice, and rejoice. And you won’t have to worry about people not showing up. Your backyard barbecue will become a chance to minister to others-and bring down blessings on yourself.

I looked at Bill Wilsons site today.

What is your First Love?
Or Who?

His Mission statements Say:

Our mission is to equip and encourage believers to take a stand for Jesus by reporting and analyzing current events from a Biblical perspective.

The Daily Jot analyzes a news event each day from a Biblical worldview and closes with a Bible verse that suits the situation. Most of the time, the “Jot” aims to encourage Christians to do what Christ commanded--preach the gospel to every creature--or to stand up and occupy by being the salt and light to this dark and dying world.

You may have been receiving The Daily Jot for over a year. Or you may have more recently subscribed. "Jot" readers and listeners have been very encouraging to me in emails and phone calls. You will never know how much I appreciate your kind support and prayers.

Former Journalist, especially involving politics, always want "back in" the inner circle when they have no longer become privy to that elitism Washigton DC cultivates and seduces people with.

Reading his Bio I can see How he is being sucked back into Muckraking rather than Encouraging,

Poltiking instead of Preaching,

Trashing instead of Teaching,

Gossip instead of Gospel.

Today I saw for the first time in his article a abuse of scripture that is Major Red Flag.

Taking Scripture WAY OUT OF CONTEXT, to fit a Point of View the Bible does not support nor does the quoted text.

Bill used a Salvation Scripture, and left off the salvation part...

He took a "part" of a scripture and sueds it to signify his Point of View as God is powerful so anything is possible like standing up WITH BILL's point of view.

When Scripture is taken out of context and it is a Salvation Message distorted, it's time to call somone to accountability.

We need to pray for Bill.

He is caught up in the World of Politics and deception as opposed to creating a receptive ear for the needy to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Bill End his Article with "With God on our Side"

Bill....God is NOT on your side.

Are you on His?

(Jan always speaks her mind)When Evangelicals Dine with the Wicked~Jan Markell

When Evangelicals Dine with the Wicked
By Jan Markell

Few would disagree that Willow Creek Community Church has been one of the most influential churches in America over the last thirty years. The church and pastor have impacted every evangelical church in the country. A year ago Willow Creek's Pastor Bill Hybels admitted that the "seeker-sensitive" approach he had helped spread across the country had not been very effective at Willow Creek. In one interview here, he states that the church will now target people at all levels of faith. Well, that was an admission many of us were pleased about. The obvious question was, what would the new approach be? One thing was obvious: His leadership summits have not changed one whit.
I have followed his annual leadership conferences. Guest speakers have always been problematic -- such as Jimmy Carter, and this year is no exception. Would not a "leadership conference" be training people how to be Christian leaders in the ways of faith? Or to equip attendees to help other believers grow in their faith as a result of some the information presented at this event? Apparently not.

As this is written, the 2009 conference is assembling to hear from Tony Blair. What's wrong with this picture? Blair is one of the chief players on the globalistic, one-world religion agenda. The Tony Blair Faith Foundation screams "unity" with every sentence, and not biblical unity. Blair states, "God's Spirit moves through us and the world at a pace that can never be constricted by any one religious paradigm. Be very wary of people who think theirs is the only way."

Members of his board include a Zen Buddhist, a Hindu from Minnesota, an Anglican, Rick Warren, a Rabbi, and others. A goal is to "heal the divisiveness in the world." This feeds into the end-time ecumenical effort predicted in the Bible.

Just as troubling is the appearance of rock star Bono. His U2 band was blatantly Satanic. Thanks to Good Fight Ministries, you can go to this link and type in the word Bono or U2. Bono is seen holding an upside down cross and singing praises to Charles Manson with the song Helter Skelter. Did Bono have a conversion experience? If he did, he has not changed the name of his music affiliation, which remains U2 from the days of blatant Satanism.

His efforts are directed at social change and he, too, is trying to build a bridge to all faiths. Bono says, "Look, on the God thing, I have to be really careful because I'm not a very good advertisement. I don't want you to sit there and say I'm a man of faith. I just read in one of St. Paul's letters, where it describes all the fruits of the spirit, I realized I had none of them."

He also states, "I stopped going to churches and got into a different religion. That's what being a rock- -and-roll band is: Showbiz, shamanism, and music is worship."

Coexist logo

U2'S 2005 Vertigo tour promoted Bono's New Age, all-faith agenda. The word 'coexist' appeared on a giant screen -- the 'c' represented by the Islamic crescent, the 'x' by the Star of David, and the 't' by the Christian cross. Then the big screen displayed the favorite mantra/lie of the Emergent/New Age Church, "Everything you know is wrong." Bono led the audience in a chant, "Jesus, Jew, Mohammed -- all true!"
How will attendees grow spiritually or grow in leadership skills from Bono?

Some other speakers at this supposed evangelical leadership conference going on this week include a gal who was the number one business thinker in 2008 according to the Wall Street Journal; Fortune Magazine's "most powerful woman in business"; and a businesswoman who is a regular guest on the Oprah Winfrey program. You can find most of the speakers here.

How does this further the Kingdom of God today? If this were being put on by the National Council of Churches, I would get it! But Hybels is an evangelical icon even if it is the "evangelical Left." And it would be proper to ask, why does evangelicalism even have a Left? It did not until 20 years ago. Will these speakers spur the attendees on to share their faith with greater zeal? And why is Hybels subjecting his people to some potential sheep-steeling from some of these characters? Probably because the ecumenical effort is big on his agenda as well. Yet tens of thousands of churches are connected to his network.

Pastor Bill Hybels should know better. Other evangelical leaders need to speak up and stop the potential slaughter of some sheep. The hour is too late to spend several days each summer listening to fools.

Taxation without representation will be the spark to start the next Revolution ~Gerald Celente

Taxation without representation will be the spark to start the next Revolution Gerald Celente

Gerald Celente on The Financial Sense Newshour With Jim Puplava Saturday August 1 2009

Well the people are finally protesting we see Tea parties all over the country , this is historical says Gerald Celente and cannot be played down ,

this is new in America that we have these Tax protests (protests are very common in Europe Asia and South America ),

it is just the beginning Gerald Celente said ,because they are not going to be able to solve the problems ,

the next shoe to drop after the foreclosure issue and the commercial real estate of course it is going to be the tax issue ,

people are going to start losing their homes because they are not going to be able to pay the property taxes so this is just the beginning ,

as we are seeing people are being squeezed at every level whether it is raising fees on parking meters to the so called Sin taxes it was the spark that started the first American revolution and taxation without representation is going to be the spark that starts the second American Revolution .

There are three worlds out there ,
  1. there is the media world
  2. there is the political world and
  3. there is the real world ,
and the media world and the political world are totally out of touch on what's going on in the real world , this is just the beginning , added Gerald Celente

"Do you ever doubt the existence of God? And if so, why?" ~Ray Comfort

An atheist’s question . . .

"Do you ever doubt the existence of God? And if so, why?"

Do I ever doubt the existence of God? Not for a moment. However, an intellectual belief in God’s existence is really a non-issue. This is why: I live in a solid, well-made house. Do I ever doubt the existence of a builder? Not for a moment.

My wife has a well-made and reliable vehicle. Do I ever doubt (for some strange reason) the existence of a car maker? Not for a moment.

I own a well-made computer...I'm sure you get the message. I never doubt that there was a maker of these things, because these things can’t make themselves. My common sense tells me that they had to be made by someone with an intelligent mind. The alternative is ludicrous.

However, the issue I think you may be driving at is rather, "Does my faith in God ever waver?" The answer to that one is the same. Do I ever doubt God? Not for a moment. There’s a reason for this unwavering faith.

If you asked me if I ever waver when it comes to faith in my wife, I would answer the same--not for a moment. This is because I trust her with all of my heart. She is a trustworthy person. She always keeps her word. However, there is a possibility that she could let me down. That could happen because she is a sinner. She is fallible. But God is not. He is without sin, so you can totally trust Him with all of your heart, and you will never, ever, be disappointed in Him.

Life’s terrible circumstances may shake you to the core, but if you catch a glimpse of God’s incredible integrity as well as His ability to keep His word, and therefore you trust Him, your faith will only grow through life's lion’s den experiences. His promises are immutable. They are a solid rock. See Matthew 7:24-25 for details.

US Turns its back on Israel

World Events Today Are Fulfilling Prophecy Tomorrow
They [USA] have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people [Israel] slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace. Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 6:14-15

USA Turns Back On Israel & God

[08.04.2009] It is official. The United States of America has officially turned it's back on the Nation of Israel. If you think things are bad now, just wait. The Obama Administration is opening the door to negotiate with radical Islamic factions across the globe. He seems will to compromise with nations that have vowed to wipe Israel off of the map and convert the entire world to Islam while killing all that try to stop them.

Recent talks with enemies of Israel have been aimed to push the movement for a two-state solution in Israel. This fact alone indicates that the US is not standing by the interests of God's chosen people, the Jews.

And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the NATIONS that come against Jerusalem. Zechariah 12:9

BLESSED BE the LORD thy God, which delighted in thee to set thee on his throne, [to be] king for the LORD thy God: because thy God loved Israel, to establish them for ever, therefore made he thee king over them, to do judgment and justice. 2 Chronicles 9:8

God's chosen land is Israel, His chosen people the Jews.

It is for this reason alone that the USA has been blessed with the fruitfulness and prosperity that it has enjoyed for the last 233 years. God will bless the nations that bless Israel and destroy nations that turn against Israel.

Our current President is, as we speak, turning his back on Israel. He says he has the best interests of our nation built into his foreign policies. Looks to me like he is trying his best to destroy this nation by any means necessary, including calling upon the wrath of God. A two-state solution will never happen, God will not allow it to happen. Prepare yourselves, the KING OF KINGS shall soon return.

No Rapture In Revelation?~Dr. David R. Reagan

No Rapture In Revelation?

Dr. David R. ReaganBy Dr. David R. Reagan

Why isn't the Rapture specifically mentioned in Revelation?

The book of Revelation implies a Pre-Tribulation Rapture without specifically mentioning the event. In chapter 4 verse 1, John sees a door open in the heavens and he is raptured to Heaven in what appears to be a symbolic type of the Rapture of the Church. In Revelation 19:11, John sees the heavens opened again, and Jesus descends on a white horse, with the Church accompanying Him (Revelation 19:14). Chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation focus on the Church, but there is no more mention of the Church until the end of the book (Revelation 22:16). From chapter 4 through chapter 21, there is only mention of "saints," which would be those who accept the Gospel during the Tribulation.

The Bible never specifically defines the timing of the Rapture by tying it to any other event like the re-establishment of Israel or the rebuilding of the Temple. Even its proximity to the Tribulation is inferred rather than definitely stated. That's because the Rapture is an imminent event that could occur at any moment.

There are strong scriptural inferences that the Rapture will occur before the Tribulation begins. A couple of those are found in Jesus' Olivet Discourse as recorded in Luke 21. Jesus stated that when the end time signs "begin to take place," we are to look up, for our redemption will be drawing near (Luke 21:28). Note that the redemption will come not at the end of the signs, but as they begin to take place. Jesus then added that believers should pray earnestly that they might "escape" the Great Tribulation that is coming upon "all those who dwell on the face of the earth" (Luke 21:36).

In this regard, Paul states in 1 Thessalonians 1:10 that believers are waiting for "His Son from heaven... that is, Jesus, who delivers us from the wrath to come." And Jesus told John to write to the church at Philadelphia, representative of faithful Christians, that "because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell upon the earth" (Revelation 3:10).
