Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met with Palestinian officials on Tuesday despite Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad's last minute cancellation of his participation in the meeting.

The officials delivered a letter to Netanyahu from Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas detailing Palestinian positions on the stalled peace talks and reiterating a call to halt settlement building. Netanyahu plans to send a letter to reply in two weeks.

Netanyahu briefed on Iran talks

A senior U.S. official said PM Netanyahu was fully briefed both before and after the Istanbul meeting on the strategy being adopted by the six major powers. The official also told Haaretz that in the weeks prior to the Istanbul conference, detailed discussions were held with Israel on coordination of the approach to the talks.

Barak: Israel made no promises not to attack Iran

Israel has not made any commitment to Washington not to attack Iran's nuclear facilities during its negotiations with the West, Defense Minister Ehud Barak emphasized Tuesday morning. The defense minister has also stated that Israel did not believe the talks would lead to the desired solution, but added that he would be pleased to learn that he is mistaken. He said that the talks must lead to a clear outcome - a halt of Iran's nuclear program.

What has motivated Putin’s pro-Israel policy? …. Sharon was a big factor in improving Russian-Israeli relations … ... Netanyahu has invited Putin to Israel in June ... Russia’s oil giant Gazprom has signed a major gas deal with Israel …. Netanyahu and Romney have forged a very special friendship over 36 years … Netanyahu serving as one of Romney’s key Middle East advisors … Does this point to a Romney victory in November?

"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day." - E. M. Bounds
