What standard do you use to evaluate your integrity?

With God’s help every Christian leader can find a life of integrity. Read Isaiah 6:1-7.

When the prophet Isaiah had a vision of God’s glorious and awesome nature, he was overwhelmed by the holiness of God. He cried out “Woe to me! I am ruined! I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips…” Isaiah was a priest and prophet before this experience with God and probably thought, like most of us, that he was a man of integrity. This experience with God gave him a reference point that allowed him to see his integrity against God who is the standard for integrity. At the moment Isaiah caught a glimpse of true holiness and integrity, he realized he was not nearly as close to perfection as he had once thought.

In the face of God’s perfect holiness, Isaiah saw a need for personal change. Isaiah realized the depth of his own weaknesses and he immediately acknowledged God’s perfect holiness. It was at this moment that Isaiah was touched by God and made ready for service. Isaiah’s example demonstrates for all leaders the possibility of framing a life of integrity with God’s help.

Have you ever had a moment when you understood God’s holiness and your own shortcomings in comparison? God is still preparing and calling leaders to serve Him today. The standard for service, however, hasn’t been lowered.
