Prophecy Digest: Our 30th Anniversary -J.R. Church

Our 30th Anniversary

by J. R. Church

Thirty years ago this month, Prophecy in the News launched its worldwide ministry from Oklahoma City. Since then, almost 200,000 people have written or called to let us know that our Lord has touched their hearts and given them a desire to keep looking up. Every week, we reach a vast audience across America and around the world. Every day our webcast is viewed in many nations.

We want to thank you for letting us come into your homes and minister the Word of God to you and your family over the years. You have been an inspiration to us.

In thirty years, a significant number of our friends have completed their journey through this life, and now wait for the rest of us in heaven. Can you imagine how wonderful it will be when we join them? — by rapture of course!

The late Dr. Jerry Falwell once wrote to me with the following encouraging words: "What a marvelous work the Lord has done through Prophecy in the News! Should the Lord tarry, may I offer some words of wisdom. Stay faithful! Finish strong! And dare I say, Keep Looking Up!"

The late Dr. Lee Roberson, founder of Tennessee Temple University, once wrote to me: "I rejoice in your fundamental stand and your emphasis on the great truths regarding the coming of our Lord. Thank you for your fine work!"

We all miss these great men of God, but they are having fellowship with people like the apostles John, Paul and others — and, most of all, Jesus!

Let us anticipate that wonderful day when we all meet together in glory. And while we remain, let us continue our efforts to reach the lost with the Gospel of eternal life through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

I am reminded of what the Apostle Paul wrote to the church at Rome:

"We are the children of God; And if children, then heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us ... waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body" (Rom. 8:17-23).

Meanwhile, Paul focused on the tasks that lay before him:

"I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 3:13,14).

Should the Lord come next year, or in ten years, I plan to keep working each day — opening the prophetic passages of the Bible in such a way that many Christians will be encouraged and many others will be challenged to receive Christ as Savior and Lord. Thank you for helping us.
