Foreign Minister Liberman on Wednesday condemned Iranian first Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi for a speech he gave at a UN conference in Tehran on Tuesday in which he blamed Jews for controlling the international drug trade.
"Hitler also said crazy things and succeeded in carrying out his plan," Liberman stated, adding that the world has not yet fully come to understand the danger that Iran poses.
Syrian President Bashar Assad said on Tuesday his country was in a state of war and ordered his newly appointed government to direct all its efforts towards vanquishing the uprising against him.
"We live in a real state of war from all angles," Assad told a cabinet he appointed on Tuesday in a speech aired on Syrian state television. "When we are in a war, all policies and all sides and all sectors need to be directed at winning this war."
Mohamed Morsi, Egypt's first democratically elected president, is preparing to select his new cabinet amid deep political divisions in the country.
Morsi held talks with the country’s military rulers on Monday as he attempts to coax a mistrustful army into relaxing its grip on power.
The winning Muslim Brotherhood candidate has started moving into the presidential palace and has already begun talks to appoint his new cabinet, days before the military is scheduled to transfer power, a campaign spokeswoman said.
