One Thousand Years: Genesage "Who is Delilah?" (Chp 10:3)

One Thousand Years

Genesage

“Who is Delilah?"

(Chapter 10:3)

Delilah wasn’t junk or a scrap heap.

Though not along ago one might of thought so….,

Delilah thought.

Delilah was not born into the Kingdom so she had to be well past seventy years, maybe eighty or ninety. She might be a hundred or more, but women still did not talk of their age. Appearance wise she seemed much like a mature thirty year old by reckoning in the Old World. This suited Delilah just fine.

She had already felt what it was like in the Old World to see your age begin to show.

In the New she liked what she saw, enjoyed what she felt. She would have said “born-again” but here that meant more than just a physical change and Delilah wasn’t ready for that.

Still, no wrinkles, smooth skin, she was in great health almost glowing with vibrancy. She looked good and for the most part felt good. If she were honest with herself, on her best day “back in the day” or back in the Old Days of the World that was, she had never felt this good. She felt that inner glow when your body knows it’s carrying a baby. You just feel so happy with yourself it shows.

Back in the “Old World”, she was uptight compared to now.

Always concerned about something. Looks, job, family, fun, sex, religion, taxes, politics, age, wrinkles, what the next episode on Television would reveal about her latest hero, or worse still, the Nightly News. There WAS a lot to be worried about back then, and she remembered, no one really was worried about how it all would end. Not really.

If anything some were more concerned about their character on the Soaps at night and who was “doing” who. It had gotten worse in the end when Visual Sex and Virtual Sex had melded and no one had matrimonial sex because sex was all over “virtual billboards”, cyber scanned ads, customized “personal care” services.

Society had sanitized and sterilized sex so much so that sex addicts claimed it was a societal norm rather than a personal choice and no matter where you looked it was ‘sex.’ In the end Delilah had found herself more than happy to be alone for the last forty of fifty years. Images in her mind did not fade easy and she too had “indulged” in her generation ills.

She was more than glad to put all that behind…..especially after the Tribulation experiences she had….,

Peace in the Kingdom of God had a way of healing all wounds.

She certainly was well on the way to recovery. Recovering from all that she had gone through. The nightmares had been gone for the first 40 years and now in the second 40 years of being in the Kingdom, they seemed to be returning slowly. She like so many others had gone through a lot, maybe more than most.

No one had been spared or was immune to the suffering mankind had gone through to survive.

She did notice those who had “sworn fealty” to the King, or become ‘spiritually alive’ what some used to be called born again in the old world, they seemed to be better. She had talked to one of those who had decided to “dedicate’ themselves to serving King Jesus and they seemed happy.

She wasn’t ready for that. Not after what “men” had done to her in the Tribulation. She would never forget. Forgiveness wasn’t even in her vocabulary so when it came to the “son of man” she wasn’t interested.

After all He was a man.
