"Answering the Questions in Prophecy Biblically"

Jack Kelley

Q. I’ve been taught that Jews have no belief in the New Testament or it’s prophecies.  At the time of the Abomination of Desolation the Jews will have returned to their covenant relationship with God but that wouldn’t  include belief in Jesus as the Messiah. How then could Jesus’ warning to flee to the mountains in Matthew 24:15-16 be heeded by the Jews of that time if they don’t accept the New Testament or its prophecies?

A. A lot will happen in Israel in the 3.5 years between the rapture and the beginning of the Great Tribulation. First, thousands of Messianic Jewish believers will have disappeared in the rapture. Many of those left behind will know someone who’s gone.  Second, Israel will officially be a country in covenant with God, and most will know that the 70th Week of Daniel has begun.  Third, 144,000 Jewish evangelists will be running around the country (Rev. 7:1-8), carrying the warning of Matt. 24:15-16.  When the people see the warning come true before their very eyes many will have the sense to flee, even if they haven’t accepted Jesus as their Messiah.
