Success of Islamic Revolution in Iran Inspired Entire Muslim World
The success of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979 has inspired the entire Muslim world, said an eminent Indian scholar Tuesday in New Delhi. Indian Scholar said that Imam always preached for the unity of the entire Muslim Ummah and for a united struggle for the liberation of Al-Aqsa and Palestine. 'Muslims across the globe should follow the guidelines of Imam Khomeini (R.A.), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran and leader of the Islamic Revolution, to remove Zionist's illegal occupation of Al-Aqsa Mosque”

In response to the recent wave of Arab revolts and current uprising in Egypt, Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in his February 4 Friday Prayer sermon in Tehran welcomed the "revolution and awakening" and interpreted in detail his ideological analysis and aspirations with regard to the "explosion of sacred anger" in the Middle East.  

Turkish PM: Turkey, Russia to discuss joint projects in Kyrgyzstan
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan will discuss joint projects with Russia in Kyrgyzstan during his visit to Moscow next month-"I believe that my visit will be a turning point in relations between our countries," Erdogan said. Following the visit of the Turkish PM to Kyrgyzstan, the countries agreed to abolish visas for its citizens.

Islamists Massacre Two Coptic Families in Egypt
News of an Islamist massacre of two Christian Coptic families has emerged from Upper Egypt with the return of Internet connections to the country, after a one-week Internet blackout imposed by the troubled regime. The massacre, not the first in Egypt in recent weeks, took place on Sunday afternoon (January 30) at the village of Sharona near Maghagha, in Minya province, and is being reported by AINA, the Assyrian International News Agency.

AP analysis: Foreclosures raise US economic stress
The nation's economic stress inched up in December because higher foreclosures outweighed lower unemployment, according to The Associated Press' monthly analysis. Bankruptcy levels remained largely unchanged from November. But the depressed housing market took a toll. Foreclosure rates rose in 33 states, most sharply in Utah, New Jersey, Nevada and Arizona.  

Iran test-fires new supersonic missile
Iran's Revolutionary Guard have test-fired a supersonic ballistic surface-to-sea missile capable of hitting warships and targets within a 300km range. The missile, called Persian Gulf, is supersonic, immune to interception and features high precision systems, Chief Commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, Brigadier General Mohammad Ali Jafari was reported as saying on Iranian state TV on Monday.  

North and South Korea hold first talks since shelling
Military officials from North and South Korea have held their first talks since the North shelled a South Korean island in November, leaving four dead. South Korea said the talks, at the border village of Panmunjom, were intended to lay the groundwork for higher-level meetings. Relations have been extremely tense since 46 South Koreans died when their warship was sunk last March.  

US report finds Gulf embassy staff 'risk exploitation'
US investigators say they have found "indicators" of exploitation and coercion of low-level staff at US missions in four Gulf countries. State department investigators reported that contractors illegally confiscated workers' passports and housed staff in overcrowded and dirty conditions. Investigators said some workers had paid recruitment fees worth up to a year's salary, risking "debt bondage".  

Assad’s days numbered, dissident tells 'Post'
A prominent US-based dissident Syrian blogger said on Monday he believes his homeland isn’t ripe for the kind of unrest that has rocked other Arab states in recent weeks, and that the Assad regime was behind an online campaign to organize protests in the country. “I don’t think anything will happen in the near future,” he told The Jerusalem Post, speaking on condition of anonymity for fear that his family would be harmed. “I don’t think the people in Syria are ready yet.”  

'Erdogan: Israel must not intervene in Egypt's matters'
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that "Israel must under no circumstance interfere" in what is happening in Egypt, Turkish daily Huriyyet reported. Speaking to a group of reporters at the opening of a "friendship bridge" between Turkey and Syria, Erdogan said he had made this point to US President Barack Obama and Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou, adding that they should intervene to stop Israel should it be "inclined to meddle in Egypt in a last-ditch effort to try and turn the tide against the anti-Mubarak demonstrators," Huriyyet reported.  

Mubarak forms committees for reform in Egypt
In its latest effort to defuse public anger amid mass protests, embattled President Hosni Mubarak's regime set up a committee Tuesday to recommend constitutional changes that would relax presidential eligibility rules and impose term limits. Mubarak's decrees were announced on state television by Vice President Omar Suleiman, who also said that Mubarak had decreed the creation of a separate committee to monitor the implementation of all proposed reforms.
