Something for us to reflect and think about- Paul was NOT one of Jesus original disciples, so how did Paul ever get the information about Jesus being G_d? Did Paul read a book, magazine or something? Was it divine revelation ? I FULLY believe the Bible is G_ds inspired book, please do NOT get me wrong, but just stop and think about the scripture that Paul wrote that is being quoted from the New Testament.

It must be so. It is critical to the doctrine of salvation. Even in secular terms we can understand the purpose of a mediator. To settle the dispute bewtween labor and management, a mediator must be acceptable to both sides before the negotiations can begin.

If Christ were not deity, how could He satisfy the Father’s righteousness and holiness? The Father would have had to dismiss Him as a mediator for the divine side. On the other hand, if He was not fully human, then mankind would have had to dismiss Him as the mediator for the human side. Fully God and fully man….

I have not seen the GQOTW yet. Did they mention Isaiah 9:6 where the Messiah will be called mighty God/everlasting Father/Prince of peace?

  9. Comment by R

Karl Frank, GQ Most likely waits to post them.

I suppose I’m just too materialitic, I suppose… Jesus’ spiritual departure from living flesh on the cross certainly sounds like a demonstration of supernatural power, divine power! Jesus healing genetically afflicted people, reconstructing genetically damaged DNA, certainly sounds like a divine power from our ‘Creator.’ Medicine can’t even do that 2000 years later! I could go further, but my little ark has really taken on some water on these two issues! And, I’m still bailing out the flood trying to stay afloat… course Jesus walked on water! Now, I’d like to see someone give that one a try! Maybe I can ask Him to lend a hand? I’m still trying to reach Paul on my cell phone… line’s been busy for 2000 years. Maybe I just need to listen to his voice mail!

    Something to think about also:

    1) Paul spoke to Jesus.
    2) Jesus spoke to Paul.
    3) The Holy Spirit confirmed Paul.
    4) Paul describes an incident of a person “going to heaven.”
    5) Pauls ministry was challenged by Judaizers while He was alive and surived.
    6) Pauls Words were challenged by Early critics and were validated.
    7) There has been nothing in the past and nothing in the present nor anything in the future that will not have some challenge Pauls words as though they were not his own as opposed to the Word of God and Chosen by God to reveal His Word, His Way, His Grace and His Will.
    8) If we say the Word of God is inspired, you don’t get to choose and pick which is or which isn’t.

If You SAY IT IS: IT IS
If You SAY IT ISN’T: IT ISN’T.

    9) If you debate the deity of Jesus, it isn’t a Pauline problem or a issue with Paul but John. John, I John and Revelation all testify to the deity of Jesus.

(#If this posts I will re-post what I already posted here of the Messianic Meeting In Jerusalem were the Deity of Jesus was discussed and verified.) (from now on I am keeping back ups LOL)

In Jerusalem the Messianic Community was growing increasingly split over the Deity of Messiah. The meetings, in Hebrew, were careful to avoid a direct confrontation because the congregation had grown large and there was a growing division for those who had “come from America” and were seeking a more “legalistic” and obvious “Observant” lifestyle choice and those who as Jews, enjoyed the grace that the original “Cong” had been started with, which was and is according to New Testament Theology.

Since the Jewish Pastor has been trained stateside, oddly the conflict wasn’t with Sabra or native born Isaeli who embraced Grace, but those who had recently come from America and wanted a “Jewish Look and Feel” even going to far as to say Torah based and became a separatist group.

In the middle the Pastor avoided the issue as well as one of the groups most famous participants, David Stern.

When neither would comment on the growing issue, Dov a quiet soft spoken Jew from America who was once pictured in Messianic Dance, confronted the issue as the study had come upon that portion of Scripture.

After the study when everyone was sitting around discussing the message, Dov approached and asked about Zechariah 14.

¶ Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

14:3 ¶ Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which [is] before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, [and there shall be] a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
14:5 And ye shall flee [to] the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, [and] all the saints with thee.

14:6 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the light shall not be clear, [nor] dark:
14:7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, [that] at evening time it shall be light.
14:8 ¶ And it shall be in that day, [that] living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.
14:10 All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and [from] the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.
14:11 And [men] shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.
14:12 ¶ And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.
14:13 ¶ And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.
14:14 And Judah also shall fight at Jerusalem; and the wealth of all the heathen round about shall be gathered together,
14:15 And so shall be the plague of the horse, of the mule, of the camel, and of the ass, and of all the beasts that shall be in these tents, as this plague.
14:16 ¶ And it shall come to pass, [that] every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
14:17 And it shall be, [that] whoso will not come up of [all] the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that [have] no [rain]; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
14:19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
14:20 ¶ In that day shall there be upon the bells of the horses, HOLINESS UNTO THE LORD; and the pots in the LORD’S house shall be like the bowls before the altar.
14:21 Yea, every pot in Jerusalem and in Judah shall be holiness unto the LORD of hosts: and all they that sacrifice shall come and take of them, and seethe therein: and in that day there shall be no more the Canaanite in the house of the LORD of hosts.

As in all things bibical we find ourselves with a degree of emotional attachment and investment due to personial discernment of the text and our own history……I have seen friendships fail due to hair splitting over diffrent ideas of a verse from the bible…this happens in all religious discussion no matter the faith…people being people….but here is a key issue for me…was Jesus real? For me…yes without question, and that brings a simple point…it was a supernatural event… the all of it…it changed and changes the world, but people forget we are talking about a super intelligence, so advanced that with thought alone all of this was created…if we study the simple messages and allow excitement to grow from how perfect our encounter with God and the Christ are we can add to this world by keeping our hearts open to our fellow humans.Remember this…we all die, we are transformed from this life to another and we should be at ease with this as one can by getting past the confusion the trips us in the day to day…I believe….Christ was and is more than we can accept with our limited minds…think on it He brought the dead back to life with His will and prayer…no one else can make that claim..ever ..His resurection? for me, a matter of fact. But go farther in your thoughts…imagine His reunion with His mother, what happend to the minds of the leaders of the Jewish church as they must have seen Him. His transformation of Paul, Pauls blindness…the returning of his sight and the thoughts, letters and experiences that produced in that one single life…yes we have much to learn and I look forward to it in this and the next life

    All;

Another good Apologetic source that involved 5,000 hours of research is “Evidence that Demands A Verdict” and also More Evidence that Demands A Verdict with even more hours of research!!!

The two have been combined into “The New Evidence That Demands a Verdict” and all are written by Josh McDowell, International Speaker for many years for Campus Crusade for Christ!!!

There are so many proofs in this research proving the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as a fact in History so that it would uphold in a Court of Law under legal scrutiny and upholds the muster of Historical Truth through Historical Documentation!!!

The Deity of Christ is dealt with extensively in these books and it can be concluded that if Christ wasn’t God, Christianity would collapse and become like every other “False Religion of the World” where man seeks after God instead of God seeking after Man!!!

One last REWRITE and PROOF IF it is allowed to POST:

Zechariah 14:3 says YHVH stands on the Mt of Olives
    The reference is Messianic
    Jesus is the Messiah.
Jesus is Deity., albeit the Son of God because Zech 14:3
    says YHVH or God.

That proves the deity of Jesus.

Jesus did not resurrect on Sunday (our Gregorian calendar) as you guys stayed above, but on Saturday at 6 p.m. Remember that in the Jewish calendar the day stars after sunset and it ends at sunset, even now. So this have not change it because this is something that will go on, even for eternity.

    Thank you Mimi.

    The posts were removed permanently.

Having posted effortlessly here on numerous occasions, I can only surmise there was an issue with reference to non-Christian groups and my personal experience.

Numerous efforts have been made for clarification with no response.

I will eventually repost a brief factoid of the Zech 14 reference because it is a Jewish Apologetic FOR the Deity of Christ that has never been repudiated and isn’t debated when referenced.

I am aware of “localized” “temp cache” “pending” and several other “tech” capabilities blogs use to “evaluate” ‘comments’ prior to release or semi-permanent inclusion.

At times I know some “sites” use a variety of “guest” editors and sometimes opinions vary as to posting criteria.

I enjoy the “venue” though I know the “posts” are “not public” but “private domain” and can be used in any way the owner(s) of the site chooses to.

In those cases, all I can do, If I AM CONCERNED, is appeal to logic of the editors and posters. Most times sites realize the power of expression applied to a “general outline” of criteria is the most powerful appeal the “site” has in regards to “indirect” sales of the “secondary” items it is marketing.

I “hope” the “dialogging” then continues when dealing with diversity.

But Thanks again Mimi for mentioning it.
