RaptureTimingSequences: 40 years is a Generation(Judgment Generation)-Michael James Stone

RaptureTimingSequences

“Judgement Timing”

Point of Reference

“Sins of the Father”

There is a definite “blindspot” when it comes to setting dates and times of the ‘End Times” and Rapture.

1.     Most of the Timings DON’T look at the Point of View “FROM” Israel.

When Jesus Spoke of the End of the Age, He wasn’t talking to Christians or Western Culture, not speaking from a Hellenistic Perspective or Greek Logical Mind Set.

He was talking to Middle Eastern Culture and Setting, and He was talking to Jews.

Here is a Western Mindset About the current debate of giving timing of Jesus return:

A 120 Year Generation?

Q. I thought I’d add something to consider regarding a generation. I have looked at 70 years as the date of a generation. Also 40 years etc… The Bible tells us that no man shall live more than 120 years (after the period of the flood) and in fact that is the age of Moses when God took him. So in my estimation the very last date would be 1948 + 120 years or at the extreme latest 1967 + 120 years.  Your thoughts?

A. Genesis 6:3 says, Then the LORD said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever, for he is mortal; his days will be a hundred and twenty years.”

I disagree with the opinion that this verse was intended to set man’s life span at 120 years.  It contradicts Psalm 90:10 that places man’s lifespan at 70 years, and Moses was taken because of disobedience, not to establish the length of a lifespan (Num. 27:12-14). Even today when life is often extended medically, it’s extremely rare for anyone to even reach 100 years of age.

I believe it’s more likely that God was giving the people of Noah’s time a 120 year advance warning of the coming judgment we know as the Great Flood.  This view is also consistent with the context of the passage, whereas the 120 year lifespan is not.

Notice the argument discuss’ God rendering  judgment on Noahs Generation.

The Author says 120 years is about Noahs Days and not the Judgement. Why 120? It is in Torah.

It is the Ten Commandments most people forget to read all of:

And Moses called all Israel, and said unto them, Hear, O Israel, the statutes and judgments which I speak in your ears this day, that ye may learn them, and keep, and do them. 2 The LORD our God made a covenant with us in Horeb. 3 The LORD made not this covenant with our fathers, but with us, even us, who are all of us here alive this day. 4 The LORD talked with you face to face in the mount out of the midst of the fire, 5 (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to show you the word of the LORD: for ye were afraid by reason of the fire, and went not up into the mount;) saying,

6 I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me.

8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: 9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, 10 And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

Notice It is:  visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation If you wanted to argue this:  of them that hate me, You might, but I am afraid it doesn’t take long to identify a sinner to God is one of those that hate him.

Here is the Point: God Judges Sin in Two or Three Generations. How Long is two or three? 120 years is three generations. This allows the poster above to be correct (partially) about Noah’s time.

40 has always been the number of Judgment.

It is the “Number” God uses not to reckon How long a generation is per se, (which is why “some” bible scholars confuse it) but to reckon:

How Long a Time Span is When He Judges a Generation.

Do you see the difference?

If you do, you will figure out fast why Scholars Miss it. They argue a “generation” but forget that when God set a time span for a Generation to be judged for sin, He said So already.

The Time a Generation is judged by God is 4o Years.

Read the Story of the children of Israel wandering in the Wilderness. It is a Story of the End of the Age, but for now, just recall:

God said “That Generation will not enter into the Land, but must perish first, before Israel could enter in.

How Long?

40 Years.

We post material that is questionable, objectionable, and in the opinion of the Editor of the Prophetic Perspective, valid to use as God chooses to. Sometimes that is highly suspect as material setting “dates” of the Rapture is, but often these posts, may have pieces that are correct to futher study.
