God Speaks
(People are listening with wax in their Ears)
Most people say, if only God would speak to me.
I don’t.
To put it bluntly, I can’t figure out how people DON’T hear God speak because as far as Him speaking to me,
I can’t get Him to shut up.
Maybe I need more work than others….,

1. God speaks in Devotion
When I commented on Thumbsucking I got a few responses I thought I should comment on as we discuss “Hearing God”
“If you aren’t sucking your thumb which pacifier are you using?”
The Modern Christian is:
“Listening with Wax in their Ears "
In the modern era we live in we have an issue that is fast becoming an epidemic. Ear Wax. It gets built up in our ears and affects the way we hear. It causes Ear infections, loss of hearing, ringing in the ears, even inability to hear at all. The build up of waxy starts slow but over time layer after layer of wax build on top of the other till a yellowing begins to occur.
Once that starts, I doubt you can Hear God unless He is Shouting at you.
Hearing God Speak requires I clean out my ears once in a while. Occasionally I need to make sure I am “able” to hear so in fact, if God is already speaking, I can “hear Him”.
The Bible tells us Pharaoh a ruler in Egypt, his heart became hardened, but the bible also records those whose love “waxed” cold. The principle from Candle wax being used instead of oil lamps.
Candles drip wax, Oil lamps burn oil.
Manmade anything is candle wax compared to God’s ways of His Spirit we know is Oil.
Are you listening for God to speak to you?
Or is God really a Mac or a PC?
1) Do you have a Television? (wax buildup)
2)Do you have a Computer? (wax buildup)
3) Do you have a IPod? (wax buildup)
4) Do you have a Cell Phone? (wax buildup)
Those are easy and you can see none of those are “evil” or bad, because they can be tools. But they DO build up Ear Wax. Are you sure your ears are clear? Have you cleaned out your ears lately? Or are you full of “hearing what you want to hear?”
1) Do you hear more television than God?
2) Do you Surf the Web more than Listen to God Speak?
3) Is all your music/worship/teaching tapes, pre-planned and you picked them?
4) Could God get thru on your Cell Phone if he chose to?
In other words, Ear Wax. Wax on / wax off.
To Hear God speak there are times you need to realize God is sovereign. He chooses to speak when HE wants to not when it is convenient to fit into your PDA. He is the One you are trying to hear, he already has an earful from You. But have you had earful from Him lately?
Clean out your ears, you’re blowing it.
Jesus Said: My Sheep HEAR my voice, not READ my voice.
Ya gotta want to more than ya think it might be nice
To Hear God Speak to You

This IS my stipulation to you.
You CAN hear God speak to you.
While Pastors and Teachers Don’t want you to become a “nutcase”
They also DO WANT you to know God and to Follow Him.
