Why does God utilize intermediaries to communicate with us?

Question posted on Yahoo! Answers: If there is a god, why would we need a middleman like a priest or a book to know what he wants from us? Wouldn’t the god be able to communicate with us personally?

Frankly He does communicate with us and we do not need an intermediary.

The Scriptures instruct us, but at some point it is the Spirit of God in us that causes us to come to a place of peace where we can Hear God Speak.

Jesus assured us of this, and promised it would occur.

If we are not experiencing this it is not His fault but ours.
